This 53,000 SF facility supports a large data network and serves as a key component in improving the state’s data processing and storage capabilities. The building incorporates the latest technology to protect systems in case of homeland security threats or natural disasters.
Developed on a fast-track schedule, this Tier III facility provides the ability to back up all critical state applications and greatly reduce recovery time. Critical design criteria included security, reliability and redundancy of all building systems.
The building program consists of 15,000 SF of raised data floor, electrical and mechanical support areas, chiller, switchgear, UPS, battery and generator rooms. Open offices, workroom, conference room, breakroom and a multipurpose room provide administrative and support space.
The rural location provides a natural traffic restriction with the main access road separated from the facility by berms, retaining walls and elaborate fencing. Criteria for site selection included climatology, security, utilities, accessibility and infrastructure investments. CCTV electronically monitors security for the site and building entry. Site development included 53 parking spaces.
