Bellsouth called on Pease to design two concurrent command centers to monitor their nine-state network. This project demanded exacting needs and an extremely tight design and construction schedule that went far beyond the typical fast-track project.
The Charlotte Network Reliability Center is located inside Bellsouth’s Corporate Data Center, also designed by Pease. The other NRC is located in Brentwood Tennessee.
The 136,000 SF NRCs consolidate 40 separate facilities and contain custom-designed surveillance/monitoring and open office areas. Each facility is capable of serving as back-up for the other to ensure high quality customer service for Bellsouth’s service area.
The architecture for these interior upfits responds directly to the client’s effort to structure a controlled sequence of events upon entering the War Room. The glass-walled War Room provides a 300-degree view of the surveillance operations area and is equipped with concealed, high-end videoconferencing, data projection, lighting and surround sound systems. The electrical and HVAC systems provide emergency backup and redundancy.
Attention to detail coupled with cutting-edge technology fulfill the client’s mission for “Quality Service Through Network Reliability” along with a highly sophisticated profile for BellSouth.
