Aviation Hangars

Charlotte/Douglas International Airport

More projects take flight at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport with four corporate aviation hangars, designed for the Signature Flight Support Private Air Terminal, and a maintenance hangar serving Mesa Airlines.

The 26,000 SF Hangar No. 1 was completed in 2005 at a construction cost of $1.7 million. Construction for the 24,000 SF Hangar No. 2 completed July 2006 at $2.2 million. Hangars No. 3 and No. 4, at 26,000 SF and 30,000 SF respectively, are scheduled to complete this summer. Services for Hangar No. 1–No. 3 include architectural and engineering design; Hangar No. 4 involves site civil design.

The hangars are pre-engineered steel structures, free-spanning 200 feet. Construction for each included a building foundation; pre-engineered structure; motor operated hangar doors; site work; and mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.

“The personnel at Pease Associates respond to our needs and we’re not easy to work for. We operate in a difficult environment . . . This makes it challenging for an A/E firm.”
