Lincolnton Wastewater Treatment Plant

City of Lincolnton

As part of the firm’s ongoing relationship with the City of Lincolnton Public Works, Pease designed the $15.5-million wastewater treatment plant upgrade and expansion, expanding the facility from 4.0 MGD to 6.0 MGD.

In addition to a new laboratory and administration building, primary process improvements included the installation of a new degritting facility, anaerobic tanks, two new clarifiers, two-train oxidation ditch and upgrade of six existing secondary aeration tanks. A new chemical feed building, DAF sludge thickening system, SCADA control system and modifications to existing digester equipment were also included.

The 201 Amendment Plan evaluated options to expand the existing facilities or construct a new plant. The evaluation projected future flows and estimated capital and operating costs. The selected option to upgrade the plant included biological phosphorous removal.
